My First Unicorn Beanie!

I had so much fun making this beanie! I hope to have the pattern down soon!

Basic Beanie Pattern

Hello all! Just wanted to share my basic beanie design with you, this is the base i use for most beanie patterns. This pattern works great for any teen to adult sizes. Makes sure to check your gauge before starting the pattern. I can not STRESS how important that is when starting any pattern. It will save you time and little bit of you sanity. Anyways let's proceed:

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
-Worsted Weight Yarn
- H Hook
- Scissors
- Yarn Needle or Small Hook (For finishing and hiding strings)

TERMS/STITCHES YOU WILL NEED TO KNOW:
sl st - slip stitch
ch - chain
sc - single crochet
hdc - half double crochet
hdc inc - half double crochet increase
dc - double crochet
dc inc - double crochet increase

GAUGE:
Hdc with H hook
10 stitches across by 4 rows = 3in x 2in

Doesn't measure up?
Too small = Go up a hook size until it matches the gauge.
Too Big = Go down a hook sizing until it matches the gauge.

NOTES:
- The number after the stitch is how many you should stitch.
-When starting a new row, I use "sc, ch 1," for a dc, when starting a new row instead of the typical "ch 2 or 3"

Allonz!

-- Row 1: Start with a magic circle or ch 1 (make sure to work in the middle of either), sc, ch 1, dc 11, sl st in the middle of the ch 1 to join; [12]
-- Row 2: sc, ch 1, dc in the same st, dc inc in each st around, sl st to the middle of the ch 1 to join; [24]
-- Row 3: sc, ch 1, dc in the same st, dc, *dc inc, dc,* repeat until the end, sl st in the middle of ch 1 to join; [36]
-- Row 4: sc, ch 1, dc in the same st, dc 2, *dc inc, dc 2,* repeat until the end, sl st in the middle of ch 1 to join; [48]
-- Row 5: sc, hdc in each st around, sl st in the middle of the top of the sc to join; [48]
-- Row 6: sc, hdc in the same st, hdc 3, *hdc inc, hdc 3,* repeat until the end, sl st in the middle of the top of the sc to join; [60]
-- Row 7: sc, hdc in each st around, sl st in the middle of the top of the sc to join; [60]
-- Row 8: sc, hdc in the same st, hdc 9, *hdc inc, hdc 9,* repeat until the end, sl st in the middle of the top of the sc to join; [66]
-- Row 9-16: sc, hdc in each st around, sl st in the middle of the top of the sc to join; [66]
-- Row 17: sc in each st around, sl st in the middle of the top of the sc to join; [66]
-- Row 18: sl st in each st around, finish;

Long Time...No Post! Update on Life!

Hello everyone out there in the world wide web!

Not sure how long it has been since my last post but I know it's been years...

So after the move, the etsy store didn't work out (various outside forces), and ended up getting a full time job. Well that ended a couple of months ago. Today I had an interview for a part time position with Joann's Fabric and I got the job! So I'm going to still try and get this going! I truly believe that this is something I can accomplish, especially when most of my jobs I've had in my life are all connected to this. I have many patterns I plan to add, along with starting a YouTube channel. I want to share my tips, tricks and techniques in the many projects that I take on! But If anyone needs any help with crochet just ask away!

Much <3,
Rachell

The Move...

So it's has been about a month since the move! Yes, it was a quick decision and a quick move. We weren't sure at all if our new apartment owner would be willing to let us out of the lease or not. We had 4 days to pack everything up and head out. Me and my OCD self took forever trying to organize everything that way when it was at least in boxes, I still knew where everything was at. Yeah, that didn't happen. I asked family to help and thankfully they did or else we would have been packing forever.

Now we are moved out to the country and living with his parents. So far, so good. Still getting use to sleeping in a new place and the frogs out here will drive you mad! I'm ready to call up my sisters and go frog hunting, like when we were little. And of course, for the first few weeks we were out here, I was sick and tmj took it's toll.

Despite the fact that I don't have a driver's license yet, the location out here is amazing. So many nature trails and state parks near by. We love to go hiking and are going to try our hand at canoeing here soon. Picture and updates will be included.

So much has happened in a such a small span of time. Anthony's nephew turned six! He is also almost as tall as me! I'll give him a year or less before he's just as tall as me. That's another big part to get use to is living with a kid! We have been so stuck in our ways and it being just the two of us. Big adjustments!

Etsy surprisingly has been running smoothly. I haven't been able to post all of my new items yet but that is in progress! We are about to make some big changes with that as well. Me and lauren have been talking about opening another shop, which would be a lil more hippie friendly. I want to start drawing again and I truely miss my blacklight art. Some big plans are in store....check back with us for updates! Hope you have a great and sunny day!
